Vasquez: Two Songs This EP marks the first release from Vasquez, New York City's most lovable rock band. The two cuts on this disc may not be exactly what listeners would expect from this trio consisting of guitarist / vocalist Rick Bacchus (ex-DGeneration), bassist Sami Yaffa (ex-Hanoi Rocks) and drummer Eric Kuby, who offer up a pair of slow-tempo compositions here: "Long Lost Debbie" and "How You Gonna Ball" (the latter of which conjures up memories of David Bowie at the start of his Ziggy days). But rest assured, these strong, heartfelt ballads are not of the usual wimpy and sappy variety - although both tunes are fairly mellow, they still pack one hell of a sonic punch. ~Stephen Gorny
